The second installment in the Peter Grant series is as solid and entertaining as the first. But once again I was left feeling the best is yet to come. 3/5 stars.
What it’s about: More crimes involving magic for London constable and apprentice Peter Grant to investigate. This time Soho area musicians are dropping dead, their brain scans showing magical draining.

This was perfectly fine. Another well-constructed police procedural with the odd supernatural element thrown in for good measure. All narrated in the slightly sarcastic and sometimes funny voice of our first-person narrator, Police Constable Peter Grant.
